Dwayne Washburn Recognized as CHN's October 2022 Service Excellence Superstar

Curry Health Network is pleased to announce that Dwayne Washburn has been selected as the Service Excellence Superstar of the Month for October 2022.

Dwayne has been employed as a housekeeper in the Environmental Services Department, working at Curry General Hospital since 2017. While he transitioned to day shift a couple months ago, his first several years were spent working the night shift to ensure the facility is spotless and supports infection prevention protocols.

Dwayne was nominated by a staff member in recognition of his demonstration of compassion, accountability, teamwork, and excellence.

"A warm-felt thank you to Dwayne who went above and beyond to strip two rooms for me on a day that was extremely hard for me," the staff member wrote. They also noted that Dwayne makes every effort to ensure the safety of staff, such as when he will stay at the door of the room of a male patient who is visibly upset to ensure staff doesn't get hurt. "This gesture means a lot to me."
